Safety and Operational Risk - Assistant Quality Manager

Safety & Operational Risk Department, Cathay Subsidiary Services provides services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal ('CCT'), Cathay Pacific Catering Services (H.K.) Limited (‘CPCS’), Hong Kong Airport Services Limited (‘HAS’) and Vogue Laundry Service Limited (‘VLS’).


Assistant Quality Manager – Ground Handling Services is to assist the Quality Manager (QUM) to supervise ground handling services division and to implement the Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives and liaise closely with both internal and external parties so as to align the standards within the CX group and airport ground handling industry.

  • Implementing quality system requirements in line with the corporate quality policy.

  • Planning, scheduling, communicating and controlling the delivery of the consolidated internal audit programme covering all internal functional activities and quality, safety & security related processes in-line with corporate policy.

  • Assisting to review and improve the applications of Standards and Recommended Practices to ensure its effectiveness and suitability to the business needs.

  • Liaising with IATA and other industry bodies specifically in respect of ISAGO and similar policy initiatives related to the quality system and its industry interface.

  • Assisting to develop and implement Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plan in ground / cargo operations and revise such from time to time.

  • Attending training sessions, as and when required, either as instructor or trainee.

  • Performing any ad hoc duties as assigned by the Management.


  • Degree holder in Quality, Safety Management or other related disciplines.

  • Minimum 4 years of solid experience with not less than 2 years at senior supervisory level in airport ground operations experience.

  • Previous knowledge of Quality Management or ISO principles is preferred.

  • Able to motivate and lead staff, and effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to relate to all levels, both inside and outside the organization and to work unsupervised.

  • Good computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Holding of valid Hong Kong Driving License Class 1 & 2.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
